Leonard's 45 Points, 18 Rebounds Lift Clippers Over Mavericks
In a pivotal Game 5 of the Western Conference First Round, Kawhi Leonard exploded for a playoff career-high tying 45 points to lead the Los Angeles Clippers to a 118-108 victory over the Dallas Mavericks. The Clippers now hold a 3-2 lead in the series and are one win away from advancing to the second round.
Leonard was unstoppable from the field, shooting 18-of-25 (72%). He also grabbed 18 rebounds, dished out three assists, and recorded four steals. His performance was a major factor in the Clippers' victory, as they were able to overcome a strong performance from Luka Doncic, who finished with 26 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists.
The Clippers also received solid contributions from Paul George (24 points) and Reggie Jackson (21 points). The Mavericks were led by Doncic, but they also got solid contributions from Jalen Brunson (22 points) and Spencer Dinwiddie (17 points).
Game 6 of the series will be played on Friday night in Dallas. The Clippers will be looking to close out the series and advance to the second round, while the Mavericks will be looking to force a Game 7.
